For one night only, the Puna Hongwanji Bon Dance will take place Saturday and will feature a variety of related activities.
There will be a Hatsubon Service at 4 p.m. (the first memorial service for departed loves ones who have passed since the last obon season).
From 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. there will be lantern making. Attendees can make lanterns to participate in the Bon Lantern Parade. For the parade, meet at the base of temple steps around 5:30-5:45 p.m.
From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. will be the Bon Dance. Concessions such as food and baked goods, children games, yukatas and more will be available.
At 8 p.m., there will be a performance by Puna Taiko.
